Seriously my favorite place in the world. Thanks for another fabulous stay!!!

We had an amazing time at Strawhouse. It is a magical place that enables one to fully relax while taking in all the beauty, listening to the songs of the various birds and watching the river flow through. It really is a place to heal and let go of the hustle and bustle of life. I cannot wait to go back!

Once again our stay was most relaxing. It is so peaceful and scenic. The food is always a notch above. This was our second time staying with you. However we have eaten at the cafe probably a dozen times over past couple of years. I would not change a thing. Looking forward to our next visit most likely in September. The eagle we saw flying up River was spectacular.

The Strawhouse is one of Trinity’s treasures! Julia and Don have made this place so special you will want to just move on in! The cabin was fantastic, clean, comfortable and so dang cute. WILL RETURN!

This is one of the prettiest places in Trinity County. It is located right on the Trinity River and is the perfect place for an overnight, a delicious meal or a great cup of coffee. The couple who operate the place are the nicest folks you will ever meet!

Absolutely love this place. The owners and staff are all very friendly and helpful! The cabins are cozy and have great views of the river especially number 25 which we stayed in. The private beach on the river is a perfect place to relax, swim and enjoy some food and drinks from the restaurant. Everything we ate was made fresh to order and was very tasty. The wood fired oven pizzas on the weekend were amazing. Everything about this place is 5 stars. I will be back to spend more time at Strawhouse!!!!!

The proprietors Don and Julia were perfect hosts in every way and the accommodations were wonderful. Our hosts provided everything we could possibly need including smoking the fish we caught gratis! The food was wonderful and our home away from home was clean, the beds comfortable, and the kitchen fully equipped. Top all of this off with a view of one of the most beautiful stretches of the Trinity River. At first I was concerned that the room was too close to the highway, but the fact is we never heard any highway noise during our entire three day stay. I would return in a heartbeat!

This place has everything. Most beautiful setting that they take care to keep both pristine but usable. Just sitting on the Adirondack chairs by the rushing Trinity River drinking their excellent coffee in the morning is worth the trip. The staff/owners go so out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We loved that there was a delicious cafe on the premises so we could spend one day hanging out enjoying the setting and also do the rafting trip on the river right from the outfitter that was next door. The Trinity Alps couldn’t be more beautiful and this particular Resort and Cafe was the ideal spot to enjoy all of it. Weaverville is close by and so his Lewiston Lake and wonderful hikes. I would not hesitate to recommend the Strawhouse!! Highest recommendation.

This was our first time staying in a YURT, we wanted a different holiday experience for our kids memories- not just the same old same old hotel. The area is beautiful, the Yurt was amazingly fun- we left wanting one in our back yard just because it’s a cool place to hang. The kids loved being by the river and practicing their fishing skills- even in the pouring rain. The Strawhouse Cafe is beautiful and the local artist crafts they carry are unique-we even picked up some gifts during our stay. Staff is helpful and courteous, very laid back and easy to approach. Kids are asking for next school break to come back up when the weather should be nicer so they can enjoy less wet outdoor activities. Already checking our calendar!

Beautiful cottages right next to the river. Woke up one morning listening to my 8 and 6 year old quietly looking out the huge bay windows at some wild deer. It’s something when little kids appreciate the scenery, quiet, fresh air and nature. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and we enjoyed dinner with them one night. This really is glamping. Nature, no cell phone coverage, quiet, smoothies, great meals, grilling, rafting etc…we already booked our next stay for next year!

I had my wedding here in August 2014 and it was the best weekend ever! The cabins, yurt and studios are so nice and cozy! The beds are unbelievably soft and if you haven’t seen a Yurt, you are in for a real treat ? If you stay in the cabins near the river, you will love sleeping and waking to the relaxing sounds of nature! Beautiful property! Our wedding looked it was from a dream! The food was amazing! All fresh and healthy! The coal fire pizza was so good! But first and foremost is their unbelievable coffee! Roasted right there on the property! Don and Julia and their staff were so hospitable that it was very hard to leave! If you want to have a relaxing retreat or trying to find a perfect spot for a wedding, look no further! Can’t wait to go back with my husband and our families:)

My wife and I spent a perfect afternoon relaxing by the Trinity River. We had Don prepare dinner and he is an outstanding chef. The charming cabins right on the river are very nice, clean, comfortable, and up to date. The view is simply to die for. If you want to dine in, bring groceries to prepare in your full kitchen. Breakfast and lunch are available at the cafe, but dinner is only available by prearrangement. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. It’s quite a ways to another restaurant, so be prepared. However, the food available at the resort is top notch. You can’t beat the Strawhouse for a perfect getaway along the Trinity River.
